Become a Plus Sized Model
Ever considered becoming a plus sized model? Many teenagers, and even adults wake up one day and suddenly realize they would like to become a model. This goes for men as well as women. Modelling can be very a very lucrative career, and it certainly gets you noticed. If you are a model, chances are people will notice you. This is because of the massive influence the media has on our daily lives. Becoming a plus sized model is certainly possible, I’m not saying its easy, because there is a lot of competition, in modelling as well as plus sized modelling, but it is possible.
You Can Become a Model
Just declaring to yourself, I am a model, is not enough. Many modelling agencies and advertisements may make you think becoming a model is super easy, but they are fooling you. Believing in yourself, and believing that you can indeed become a model, is certainly the first step. This is a major point in anything you do in your life, not just in modelling. Believe in yourself, and you can go far.
What Makes You Unique?
Now that you honestly believe you can do it, lets take the next step. Time to sit back and think for a minute. What do you have to offer the modeling world? Is your look special, exotic, or unique in some way? Are you tall? Models are often tall, and it certainly helps. Men who want to model tend to be at least 5′11″ and women are usually 5′7″ at least. If you are short, this doesnt automatically exclude you. It certainly helps though, and if you are very short you probably wont be a catwalk model. You can still appear in ads, magazine and commercials however. You can do face work, hand modelling, or various other types of modelling.
What is Your Look?
Take a look at your physique. Even if you are a plus sized model, you still need to be of a proper size to fit into most of the clothes or identify well with your target audience. You need to be able to wear your weight well. Men tend to have a little more options here, especially if they are very tall. Men do have a disadvantage in general to plus sized modelling however because they are just not as in demand as females are.
Dont let the odds or the hard work deter you. If you want it enough, you can make it happen. Perhaps you have that phenomenal look some agency is dying for. Or more likely perhaps you have to work long and hard like the rest of us to get yourself into the plus sized modelling industry. Be careful of fraud when looking to take pictures or looking at an agency, there are alot of modelling scams out there which you may have heard of. Just stick with it, if you really want to be a plus sized model, there is plenty of opportunity there for people who are willing to make the first steps.
