Avoiding Work At Home Distractions
One thing that you really don’t want to interfere with your success in the Internet marketing world is the unnecessary distractions that popup everywhere. If you want to be a success, stay away from the television, the video games, and the bar. You need to focus the majority of your free time into the business and into being a true success. In the time I have been marketing on the web, I have found that my focus is the only real thing that makes me successful while others are not.
I Just Don’t Have The Time
It’s amazing how many people have told me that they would love to start out with an Internet business, but they just don’t have the time. Many of these people then go home and sit in front of the television for 2 hours or more each night. What’s more important to you, your long term success in life, with wealth and a thriving business, or watching reruns of reality shows on tv? Make the time.
Videogame Success
An old coworker and myself used to talk about hitting it big with the Internet. We were both into computers and both saw the amazing potential the Internet offered. We would talk about our ideas for making money often during the day at our job. He had a lot of great ideas, and he was very bright and had great talent with graphic arts, photoshop, and dreamweaver. He was just as talented as I was, any even moreso in many ways.
However at the end of the day, he would go home and sit in front of the computer and play online videogames for 3 and 4 hours before he went to bed. On the weekends he would play the videogame for upwards of 10 hours or more. The only difference between him and I is that I would go home and sit in front of the computer for the exact same amount of time and work on my business. Thats the only difference! Fast forward 7 years into the future and I have my own business, he does not. I am wealthy, he is not. I am successful in life, he is successful in his videogame world. In real life, he is a failure, in the game, he is a powerful level 70 elf. What would you rather be?
Find The Time
Take an honest stock of how much time you spend doing things each day. If you really break it all down, don’t you think you have at least an hour or 2 each day that you can spend working on an Internet business? On the weekends, don’t you think you have a few hours here and there that you can devote? Even if you are an extremely busy person, and only have 1 hour each weekday to spend on the business, and perhaps 5 hours each on saturday and sunday, thats still 15 hours a week that you can use. Thats a decent amount of time that you can make something happen. Do you spend 30 minutes each day in the shower? Cut it to 15 minutes a day and thats nearly 2 hours you can be spending working on the business. The time is out there, you just need to find it!
